The manuals, forms, and driving information listed below pertain to NMvanpool operators and coordinators.

+ Driving Courses

All drivers on our vans are required to take defensive driving.

In addition drivers on our vans that were purchased with 5309 funds (ask the administrator if you are on a 5309 van) are also required to take instruction in first aid and CPR within six months of being approved to drive.  There are a few options available for obtaining this required training, some of which are available where you work.

  •  At LANL a good place to try for courses is PS-13.  Search the catalog for Health-First Aid/CPR & Safety-Driving.  Sometimes the organization you work for may be willing to pick up the tab for these courses.  If not, you may submit a request for reimbursement upon completion of the course.
  • You can also take a 6-hour, online defensive driving course.  Click here to go to the registration page.  Just enter your name under the "Get Started Here" heading and click Go.  You will be required to pay for the course yourself and may request a reimbursement once you have completed the course and sent in your certificate.  NOTE:  You will not get reimbursed for selecting the FedEx delivery option.  Standard delivery is included in the price of the course.

Once you get your certificate of completion for any of these courses forward a copy to the NMvanpools office.  You may do so through your van coordinator.  Tell them to include it with the monthly report paperwork.  If you have already taken one or more of the classes listed above please send in a copy of your certificate of completion.

If you are not already an approved driver for NMvanpools you should obtain a driver application from your van coordinator or click here to download the form.  Once completed, have your van coordinator include the form with his/her monthly report paperwork.  If immediate approval to drive is desired fax the completed form to 505-296-3170 (in Albuquerque).
